The seven time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has said that he is looking to go out on a high in the final race of his career this weekend. Michael Schumacher is regarded as one of the most successful drivers in Formula One. He retired from the sport back in 2006, but made his comeback a few years ago. After failing to reach the same heights in his second spell in the sport, he has decided to retire from the sport for the second time. Yet, his final race of his career is something to look forward to for the German.
He has said that he will be hoping to go out on a high when the Brazilian Grand Prix completes the 2012 F1 world championship this weekend. The 43-year-old German will be taking part in his 308th Grand Prix, thus making him one of the most experienced drivers of all-time in the sport. The team principle of Mercedes, Ross Brawn has said that it will be a very emotional experience for everyone involved. In his previous swansong, Michael Schumacher was unable to achieve his 92nd as he suffered from a punctured tyre very early in the race, yet completed the race strongly.
“Interlagos is the right place to round off my career because so much of the fascination of Formula One is rooted there. Of course, I would be happiest if I could say goodbye with a strong race, and I am sure we will be doing everything we can to make it happen. The final race should be a great occasion with the World Championship going right to the end of the season,” said Michael Schumacher. Tributes have been flowing in for the 43-year-old German, who has won a record seven world championship titles in the sport.
